Letter from Guam Activist - Fanai

Saina ma'ase ginnen guahan yan gani, blessings and love to all
peace & justice loving brothas and sistahs in Australia

I hope that your trip back home was a happy one. I am happy to be home, though there is so much work to commit to, and just as much family and community to give love to. Our people are suffering, and in so much pain. It is good to know that there are still moments when we can find humor and love, and sometimes too when we slow down the pace and get it back to the island way. Today we went to Urunao in the north of our island, to remember the spirit of our brother, Andrew Artero, who was only 25 years of age and leaving us so soon. I know Drew through his older sister, who is a good friend from years back. A che'lu. There is so much going on here at home. Have been thinking of this journey to Australia, and the blessings we have received. As well, have been thinking of the aboriginal inheritors of the land, the indigenous. These are hard times for many, and am grateful for having the opportunity to visit and share energy vibrations, to throw rocks in the water and experience the ripples, to drop water on seeds that have already been planted. Grateful to have finally had the honor to meet you all. In our body is a universe, and within this universe resides the memory of Shoalwater Bay, Yeppoon, and the many diverse ways that we survive.

with one love and unity
we will prevail.
